Accommodation for your wedding guests
Help your guests with accommodation by gathering a few options near the venue on the wedding website, at different prices and with their links. If lots of guests are coming from far away, ask a nearby hotel about a block of rooms, and let people know early, especially if the wedding is in high season.
A short, varied list
You don't need a guide to the area. Three or four well-chosen options are more useful than twenty:
- Something close to the venue, so nobody has to drive back.
- Options at different prices.
- Somewhere suitable for families, if there are children.
- If you are laying on a coach, as close as possible to its stop.
Room blocks
If many guests need to stay over, ask a nearby hotel whether it will hold a block of rooms or offer a wedding rate, and until what date. Check whether you are committing to pay for any rooms that aren't booked.
Give plenty of notice
In high season or in tourist areas, accommodation fills up early. Include the information in the save-the-date or put it on the website as soon as you have it.
Share it on the website
An accommodation section on the wedding website, with the name, distance and link for each option, saves a lot of questions. If anything changes, it's updated in a moment.
