How to organise transport for your wedding guests
Lay on transport for your guests when the venue is far away or hard to reach, or when it matters that nobody drives after the celebration. To know how many seats to book, ask who needs it when guests RSVP, and put the pick-up points and the outbound and return times on the wedding website.
When it's worth it
- The venue is far from town or from where guests are staying.
- There's little parking.
- The ceremony and the reception are in different places.
- You don't want anyone to have to drive home.
How many seats
Add a question to the RSVP: who needs transport. With those answers you will know how many seats to book and can adjust the times. The coach company will tell you which vehicles they have and how far ahead they need to be booked.
Outbound and return times
One departure that gets to the ceremony with time to spare is enough on the way there. For the way back, several are better: one for people leaving after dinner and another when the party ends.
How to let guests know
Put the pick-up points, with a map, and the times on the wedding website. If anything changes, it's updated in a moment and everyone sees it.
