Dietary requirements and allergies at the wedding
Ask about allergies, intolerances and special menus when you ask guests to RSVP, not afterwards. Give the caterer a list by table with each person's name and what they need, and check it again a few days before. Allergies are health data: share them only with whoever prepares the food.
Ask with the RSVP
If you ask separately, someone will forget to reply. In the RSVP, next to each person, ask about allergies and intolerances and, if there are several menus, which one they prefer.
- Allergies and intolerances, with a free-text field for the details.
- A vegetarian menu or any others your caterer offers.
- A children's menu for the little ones.
Ask the caterer first
Before offering options, ask which special menus they can prepare and how they handle serious allergies. That way you don't promise something they can't serve.
One sheet per table
The caterer needs to know which table each person with a special menu or an allergy is sitting at. One sheet per table with that information avoids mix-ups when serving.
Look after that information
Allergies are health data. Explain why you are asking, share them only with the caterer and don't leave the sheets lying around. In Nupzy guests give their consent when entering them, and only you and your administrators can see them.
